The OWTP, a 501-c(3) nonprofit organization, was created to spotlight our very own Ocmulgee River which runs 200 miles from Bibb County to Jeff Davis County. It currently contains 24 boat launch\/take-out sites and represents a coalition of 11 counties.<\/p>\n
And now YOU can join, too! If you\u2019d like to stay engaged with all that the Ocmulgee River has to offer, you can now join the OWTP as an annual Student, Military, or Individual member. Or, your company\/organization can join as a Bluegill, Sunfish, Large Mouth Bass or Ocmulgee River member.<\/p>\n

In Georgia alone, recreationists spend an estimated $11 billion each year to canoe, kayak, and raft with approximately one million paddlers participating! Nationwide an estimated $139 billion is spent on water sports. In fact, water sports (kayaking, stand-up paddling, rafting, canoeing, and general boating) is the third <\/em><\/strong>highest revenue stream – with trail sports and camping taking the first two spots, respectively. Over the past five years job opportunities associated with water sports jumped from 800,000 to over 1,000,000.<\/p>\n Why should you join?
